About this RGB Color Tool

In graphics or web design, colors are often displayed in hexadecimal value.
This tool allows designers to choose a color by moving sliders to create the color.

This tool is free for anyone to use.

Intensity - Change the Brightness of the RGB color

We may want to make a colour we have chosen, slightly lighter or darker. By first specifying the Red, Green, Blue of a colour, we can see the color, then we can then change it's brightness, by moving the intensity slider, which will lighten or darken the color and show the new hexadecimal value for the displayed color.

After creating a color with the RGB sliders, move the Intensity Bar to reduce / increase the intensity of the original RGB color.

Over Saturation of Color

If increasing the intensity causes any RGB value to go above 255, a warning will be displayed and the value will be saturated at the maximum of 255. This would also mean the color will not be a true lighter version of the original color specified in the original RGB slider values. However, the hexadecimal value displayed still represents the visible color sample, and can be used.

Color Power Level

The P Value stands for Power, and is related to Brightness. It is the average of R, G and B as a percent. On a digital screen it can be thought of as the electrical power level that is being used to light up the color. Colors with a higher Power value will appear brighter. When all R, G, B values are set to maximum, the pixels will be shining with the maximum light power and will be at 100 %.
