Selection of Chinese Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Pronouns, and Sentences for Beginners

These tools use a selection of the most common, or useful Chinese words.

Many of these words are from HSK 1 (first level) Chinese that beginners typically learn.

We suggest that beginners should focus on the words lists, such as numbers, nouns, adjectives, verbs and pronouns.

Pressing the Next button gets a new random word from the list, while pressing the List button takes you back to the words in the list.

The Random Sentences is designd for learners who have already mastered much of the nouns, verbs and adjectives, and want to practice reading Chinese sentences.

The Chinese word, pronounciation (also called the pinyin), and the meaning is displayed on the page. These are spaced apart so that you can make your computers browser window smaller and choose to see them or not (if using a desktop computer).
